Not much to report today. We reported for radiation again today, early as usual, but they weren't able to see us until our actual appointment time. We've been spoiled, but the 15 minute wait wasn't too bad.
Afterward, we went to the pharmacy and got his new cane. He chose a plain black one with a cushy handle and he seemed immediately more stable when walking with it.
He is snoozing comfortably in the sitting position on the couch with his new cane at the ready on his right. But, he's removed his shoes. I'll have to watch him carefully when he rises, as his balance is worse with no shoes. He says his feet feel "spongy." Dunno if that's from the brain tumor or what's left of a tumor and and a vertebrae radiated earlier this year, but, really, does it matter?
A friend brought a broken computer over this afternoon for the Ex to repair. She and I visited a nearby bonsai nursery (outSTANDING!), and Ex had fixed the computer by the time we got back in less than one hour.
He'd written the invoice on a sheet of lined notebook paper. "Paid in Full," it said, with his initials punctuating the completion of the repair. The computer only needed a power supply, and Ex happened to have one, just laying in wait. Imagine that.
My friend was happy to have her computer repaired. Ex was happy to have something to fix! And I finally got to see that bonsai nursery!
The insurance company called this evening about our short term disability claim. Our radiation oncologist has not yet responded to their request for information. We'll see about that first thing in the morning.
More tomorrow. Thanks for your prayers, and for hanging in there with us. I can feel your support coming at us all from all directions.
Warm regards to all,
