Quick update - :-)

By popular demand, here's a quick update.

All arrived safe. Thanksgiving was VERY loud (happy loud) for a group of 8, I thought, but my turkey turned out great. I made note of a few key learnings:

1. You can't roller skate in a buffalo herd and you can't bake a souffle in a kitchen full of yellers.

2. Homemade cranberry sauce: small bag, cup of sugar, cup of water. Boil until skins break and liquid is red. This is so easy. I will never use canned again.

3. Homemade dressing: this is easy too. Mine has whole wheat & multi grain bread, sausage, pecans and the usual celery and onions. Tossed with melted butter and moistened further with fresh, homemade turkey stock, packed in a casserole and baked. People fight over the crispy edges.

4. I learned a new answer for caregivers when questioned about a) diet; b) chemo; c) radiation; d)treatment centers; or e)salvation. "I'm doing the best I can within my own knowledge, doctors recommendations, and patient's wishes."

Thanksgiving was a truly joyful occasion in Exville; our guests are still raving about what a great time they had.

But that's not all. I have so much left to tell, I made a list! The list itself is hysterical, but I don't want to spoil my next post, so I guess you'll just have to check back again soon. :-)

  1. Can't wait for the list and the details!!!
Dressing sounds very similar to mine!
Answer sounds good to those who don't need to know any more. Hard to believe that people are questioning you about ANYTHING.

  2. Ditto what hedgie said about the answer. Dressing wouldn't go over at my house, as we all like soggy dressing. I make it in a crockpot!

Can't wait for the next installment... hugs and prayers for all...Marg
